Display RFEM line hinges in Rhino with Grasshopper

What it does:

This Grasshopper script imports an RFEM model, then groups and previews line hinges. This operation is not possible in RFEM 5. The whole process is automatic. The script is extremely useful in cases when there are several line hinges with different stiffness coefficients, for instance, structures with CLT slab elements, which usually are not connected rigidly.

Additional functionality which is also extremely useful while working with RFEM is to select one or several types of line hinges that are created in Grasshopper and select all these line hinges in RFEM with a single click of a button.

The only input necessary is to click a button which will import the data from RFEM. Several other output options are available, which will allow control over the visibility of the members.

The plugins needed for the script are:

• Parametric FEM Toolbox (Plugin for Importing and Exporting RFEM data)
• Human

Possible bug fixes of the script will be available for the current customers without any additional charge.

The script works with RFEM 5 and Rhino 7. Upon request, the script can be adjusted to work with RFEM 6 as well. If any issues are faced, feel free to contact me at drilonshabani@gmail.com!
